The Bike Circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm is known far and wide for its challenging trails. Experts call it Austria’s most challenging mountain bike region.  For adrenaline: Big-5-BIKE-Challenge Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Difficulty level: high

Altitude: 4,756 metres.

Length: 66.91 kilometres

Duration: 8 hours

This promotional tour of the region shines with almost 5,000 metres of altitude to tackle. But don’t worry! There are only 1,000 metres to climb - the rest is all downhill. Freeriders from all over Europe come to the Bike Circus to experience the Big 5 Challenge for themselves!

For fun: Hacklberg Trail on Schattberg West

Difficulty level: easy

Altitude: 600 metres

Length: 6 kilometres

Perhaps the best trail is the Hacklberg Trail from the Schattberg mountain, over the western peak (Westgipfel), then back towards Hinterglemm. This single trail leads from the Westgipfel station over long grassy ridges, speed passages, small jumps and waves down into the valley. A must for beginners and experts looking for some air time!

For playing: Pro Line at Reiterkogel

Difficulty level: medium

Altitude: 428 metres

Length: 2.3 kilometres

This playful freeride trail at Reiterkogel leads through open woodland, rocky areas and plenty of cool features. Those more daring can branch off from the Pro Line towards the notorious Evil Eye Trail.

For novices: Buchegg Trail

Difficulty level: easy

Altitude: 235 metres

Length: 1.5 kilometres

This new trail at the lower section of the Bergstadl and Hacklberg trails is particularly popular with beginners. It begins at the middle station of the western peak (Westgipfel) and is flowing and easy to ride. Many small tables, turns and waves ensure plenty of fun and variation along the way.
